Denver International Airport (DIA)
Parking
- The cheapest option is to park at the Pikes Peak Lot, you're looking at $5/day. Shuttles run every 15 minutes.
- If ease and convenience is your thing, take a look at USAirport (NW corner of Tower Rd & Pena Blvd). Shuttles are quick, drivers are very helpful and shuttles drop you off right at your airline check-in. You'll get a discount by using a King Sooper's card when paying. They help you with your bags, drop you off at your car and wait around long enough to make sure your car starts on those cold days.
- Check the weather before parking. Strong afternoon thunderstorms can spawn large hail and ruin your car. You may want to consider paying for covered parking.
Picking-Up Passengers
- The line for picking up passengers can be sometimes be horrendous. You can dodge some of it by having them move to the second island in the passenger pick-up area.
- Another option is to have them meet you at the passenger drop-off area. It's usually empty and the airport police have bigger things to worry about.
Security Lines
- If you're flying on Frontier (which we highly recommend) or have a plane leaving from an "A" gate, you might save some time by using the security line at the north end on the 2nd level. There's a TV monitor between the Frontier check-in counter and the walkway to show you how long the line is before you make the walk.
DIA
With DIA being so close, we thought posting some tips on parking, picking up passengers and ride-shares might be helpful.
Ride-Share
If anyone is interested in becoming a part of a ride-share program, take a look at Reunion's List in the "Carpool" category to see if anyone has offered or if you'd like to offer rides to your neighbors as well.
